Welcome to our humble abode.

We're Pat and Katie. After a few years of renting, we finally bit the bullet and purchased a home in the saltiest city in the Rust Belt: Syracuse, New York.

Our home is a 1915 center hall Dutch Colonial Revival. This home has had a revolving door of owners over the past decade and needs a little TLC.

We believe that with a little imagination and a lot of work, we can turn this house into a beautiful home.

Join us as we tell stories about our triumphs and (more likely) complete failures in home ownership.

Affiliate Links & Product Reviews

We currently do not use affiliate links. If we ever recommend a product, it means we have used the product and purchased it ourselves with our own money. Disclaimer

We are not professional renovators / builders / electricians / masons / etc. Katie is a marketing professional and Pat is a scientist.

We are amateur DIY-ers who have absolutely ZERO professional background in renovating homes, historical restoration, or interior design.

We do this as a hobby, get most of our research online on similar DIY blogs, and do our best to document our methods and missteps.

We hope you find our blog helpful, but none of our content is intended to serve as professional advice.
